I started the Family Jewels nearly 19 years ago on a whim when I was 21 years old. My father had passed away, I dropped out of school, and I was in the midst of "finding myself". Well...what I found was that I had a eye for collectibles and antiques and a knack for finding them, and a business was born!

Now, for almost half my life, I've been buying and selling unique and affordable antiques and collectibles with an emphasis on vintage jewelry. When I had my jammed packed little shop, you would find it just brimming over with an eclectic array of interesting items. Dating back to the mid 19th century, you can find Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Victorian, Edwardian, Signed Costume Jewelry, Estate Pieces, and Native American items as well as accessories including Mesh and Beaded Bags, Hatpins, Hats, and the occasional piece of Vintage Clothing. Also offered was a terrific assortment of memorabilia and collectibles including dolls, porcelain, pottery, housewares, vintage toys and more.

In May of 2000, I closed down my shop to allow me the freedom to be more available for my son, who is now a teenager. (Make sure to do a seller search on eBay under the User ID "LOCOLEX" to check out my son's auctions.)

Curently my focus is in online sales. I'm still offering the same eclectic blend of antiques, uniques and collectibles, only now, I am able to make these offerings all over the globe. I often meet privately to buy and sell in my quaint little town of Decatur, a suburb of Atlanta. Decatur is kind of like Mayberry...with an attitude!! We have a wonderful courthouse that's over a century old, a gazebo for bands and events, and bunches of shops, galleries, and restaurants.
